Dave Pelz’s Backyard – Half Day Alumni Tune-Up – October 10, 2025 (Fri-afternoon only)

Located in Dripping Springs, Texas, the late Dave Pelz’s Backyard is a nearly 3-acre short game and putting complex replicating eight of the most famous golf greens, including the 12th at Augusta National, the Island 17th at TPC Sawgrass, the 14th at Pebble Beach, and the 17th at St Andrews. Called “The World’s Greatest Backyard (for a Golfer)” by the Wall Street Journal, it is just one part of Dave Pelz’s legacy.

Dave dedicated the last 50 years to “understanding the game so I can teach it more simply.” All eight iconic replicas serve specific purposes and once you’re on the “facility” as he called it, you’ll quickly gather how much Dave genuinely loved playing the game, studying it and teaching it. His “dream come true” laboratory with its panoramic scale and creative design is where Dave continued to make discoveries to help golfers improve. That was fundamentally who Dave Pelz was.
